Chapter 6

Hari had known Dr.Narayan Paranjape, as he remembered that it was in the doomed ship of this guy gave him severe fears. Who had killed Paranjape? Was it done by a wellwisher of his, or was it done by someone who wanted him hunted down as well? Was there any correlation between the murders of his mother, Fleming and Paranjape? And, was Fleming actually dead and he'd seen only a look-alike at the CCC? Questions went all across his mind, shot in various angles across it. But to no avail. He was a confused man. "Hari saab, want coffee?" asked Raju. Hari nodded. "Aapka mannerisms bilkul Iyer saab ka jaisa hai (All your mannerisms resemble your father's)" said Raju, which brought a faint smile to Hari's face.

In fact, there was only one person who knew everything in detail. One person who could provide answers to all of Hari's questions, but giving them could take away a few revenge opportunities from him. He was the only person who knew Hari would eventually end up with all success, but not without a small hiccup. He was the only person other than the gangsters, who knew who 406789 was, who the guy Hari was being betrayed by was... The old man. But he had to wait. Till he had accomplished his mission, he couldn't let the cat out of the bag.

Ramesh was wandering about in the streets of Triplicane. He was wondering. He had seen the picture of the dead body of John Fleming. But yesterday, when he went to clear the body of his employer, he found George Fleming, a guy who looked ditto like John Fleming. Suddenly his thought wandered to Keshav. He hadn't come with Ramesh. He immediately rushed to the godown. There he found George. George yelled at him in a typically American accent, "Yo man, where've you been? We've been searching for you all evening. You think we're jobless duds, you bastard??" Then Ramesh told him that he'd been to Parry's to get some provisions for home.

Then George told him a few tricks of the trade. "Any guy found to be in contact with the enemy is generally killed immediately. We don't give him a chance, because when he has had contact with the enemy he might prove expensive to us when we don't expect him to be so. He might suddenly stab us from the back. We can't let a whole gangster empire succumb to one mistake", told George.

"That your telling me all this is in itself one huge mistake, George", thought Ramesh.

"So we are very strict about certain rules when it comes to the gangsters. Be it you, or be it even our leader."

"So you aren't planning to tell me who our fucking leader is??" thought Ramesh.

"Why I'm telling you all this is because it has become necessary for me to inform you about all this, so that you don't end up with the plight of Keshav."

"What happened to Keshav? I want to know immediately" asked a perturbed Ramesh.

"He recieved calls from Hari. And he attended them too. We immediately started doubting him for traitor. He might have even probably given some directions for the killing of Paranjape."

"Bullshit he gave!! We ourselves were overcome with surprise with the murder",thought Ramesh.

"So, we killed him. Here have his body.", said George, who passed to him, a bullet hit body of Keshav to Ramesh.

Ramesh took the body to the cremation ground and before he cremated, he wept. He cried thinking, "This was the hand which rounded the Bangalore gang. The great Chappli has been killed, and that too in incognito. I'm extremely sorry Chappli, I should have asked you to change your cell phone number. It was my mistake" and fell to the ground crying. Then after completing the last rites of Chappli, he went to a tea stand, where he asked for a cup of tea, half full. He took it, mixed to the half cup, a dosage of whisky and started thinking out the future course of plan and action...
